So I really enjoy going out and eating when we go to Origins. Columbus has some pretty good restaurants. I'm looking for other suggestions... Barleys - Brew pub across from the convention center. Good food, good beer. Japanese Steak House - Believe it or not, this cryptically named restaurant is a Japanese steak house. Right across from the convention center. Not the best I've been to, but Origins is such a huge social event and so is eating at a Japanese steak house. Some of the best conversations I've ever had at Origins have taken place here. Kooma - Japanese restaurant right near North Market. Good place for sushi. Pretty quick too. North Market - I love the pizza there. The deli is good as well with HUGE sandwiches. But Jeni's Ice Cream keeps me coming back. Unique flavors and really good. Ted's Montana Grill - It's kind of become a tradition that we eat at Ted's on Sunday night. Not sure why. But it's pretty good. Any other recommendations? I know there are a lot of places on High Street, but we've tried only a few. |

If you're willing to catch a bus for a short trip you can hit up all the places around OSU's campus... (or walk if you need to get out for a good streach) the #2 COTA bus runs past all of the places. Mad Mex: Good tex-mex food very filling for the price and has a pretty good bar it's in the gateway complex. (around 11th ave can't miss it) Happy Greek: Very good Greek food. little expensive but worth it if you are craving authentic greek. (there's one in the short north I can't remember exactly where but I know it's on the east side of high street... the other one is in teh Gateway complex set back a little bit) Amelia's : wide variety of food, mostly oriental but also some cajan and it's Very well priced. (little harder to find.. it's between 17th ave and 18th ave... if you pass the Mcdonalds you've gone too far) Buckeye Doughnuts: mmmm doughnuts... sry got sidtracked :P they also have some pretty good Gyros and other greek foods. (it's where 19th ave would come out to high street but it has a big sign ... very hard to miss) |

MMMM Try BD's Mongolian Grill, down Nationwide Blvd across from the arena, within walking distance. Its AYCE and you can make up just about any combination you want. You will never leave there hungry. I look forward to eating there every year.

I eat most of my meals at the North Market while I'm there. So many different places to eat, good coffee and a great atmosphere.

Betty's Food and Spirits at 680 N High (The Convention Center is 400 N High) is awesome. Great soups made in house, and incredible pasta dishes. Mac's is just across the street from Betty's, think Scottish pub food. Great fish and chips! Matthew Ragsdale |
