I'm trying to find out more information on the Assassin Live! game.  Can anyone who played it last year explain something to me...how exactly does it work?  I've played "assassin" games like this before, but how do we start - does everyone meet at a specific place and then get their assignments?  How does it end?  Thanks.

I received some information from one of the people running this in case anyone is curious:

Basically the game will run 24 hrs starting at noon on wednesday and running till sunday.  You only have to purchase one event ticket, which I believe is 8 dollars.  Each day there will be a set period of time to meet where players will meet with the GMs and get an update on the progress of this game.  The players in the game will wear some sort of identifier that lets other players know that they are part of the game.  There will be several methods of assassination, which we will go over during every players meeting.  On sunday the winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded.  Some of the prizes we have include a free OGO membership, board games, RPG's, LARP books, and all sorts of fun stuff for gamers.  The grand prize will is amazing, but of course to learn what that is I hope to see you at Origins.

The players meeting will always be held at LARP headquarters.  I will have someone staffed there pretty much the entire con for players to report things, or there will be a note saying that I am at the OGO booth and to come find me there.  So anytime a player signs up they will get the lowdown on whats going on and about the game, which hopefully will mean that I will be having players sign up all throughout the con.  So whenever you get to the con and get your ticket just come up and see me.

I would like to enter the Assassin event but am concerned about the meeting times of the daily updates conflicting with other events. The event time listing is confusing.  Is there a list of the times when we are required to meet including the initial start of the event?

My name is Matt Ferrell and I am the head GM for the assassin's live game.  If there are any specific questions that anyone has I can be contacted at BigMatt@ohiogamers.org.

As far as whats been posted:

Any day that you arrive you are welcome to join the game.  It will be a 24 hr event from the start of the con to the end on sunday when we will hand out the prizes.  There will always be someone available to answer questions if someone is not going to be able to make it to the daily player's meetings.  We will for the most part be stationed at the LARP headquarters table, or near registration at the Ohio Gamers Organization info booth.   That means there will be a night shift and a day shift of GMs for your convenience.  I hope I have answered your questions, if not please feel free to email me.

Thanks and Hope to see you all there.

Big Matt,

We are trying to register for the Assassins event but it will not let us register if we have already registered for an event in the Assassins time block. Is there a way to register for Assassins and not have the other event dropped?

Thanks!

Do not worry about pre-reg.  I can accept the tokens.

Matt,

Are you  referring to Generic Tickets? If so is it best for us to purchase Generic tickets for the event then go to the LARP HQ assassin table and register at the convention?

Thanks for the assistance!

Smile

Yes that would be the best way to do it.

I will be the large fellow at the table.
