This is my first year attending Origins. I was considering buying a Board Game Ribbon, as I want to play several Board games and it seemed like a good deal. Here is the description of the Board Room : The Origins Board Room welcomes both the master and the apprentice board gamer! Enjoy the room's extensive game selection, or bring a few of your own favorite games. Sample every game you love and keep coming back for more! The room also includes showcase area for all the newest board game releases! Relax away from the crowds and tempo of activity by gaming with old and new friends alike in a great setting. However I was looking at the schedule of table top spreadsheet only a few things are listed as requesting the BoardGame ribbon, Only 115 events, then 6% of the total. Most of the rest are (76%) are listed as None, and a lot of those are Board Games. Is there a separate room for some board games? Or does the Ribbon only work on a few Board Games in the Room? Will more games be added for the Ribbon? If I buy the Ribbon and pay for a game that the ribbon covers can I get a refund? If I buy the Ribbon and I don't think I'll play enough games to make it worthwhile can I get a refund on it, and just pay for the game individually? |

Hi there! The Board Room Ribbon applies to events in the Board Room. As that room is mostly structured open gaming, there aren't a lot of events on the schedule for it. The room is set up to be a player matching service for boardgamers, without tying you down to a firm "I'm playing Caylus at 3pm" schedule. There's a huge game library in that room, and the kind folks from CABS staff the room to help with player matches and game rules. Since being in the Board Room costs one generic token ($2) for every two hours of play, we offer the Board Room ribbon as a convenient and economical way for those folks who like to play in the Board Room all weekend to manage their time and expenses. The scheduled board game events are usually in the Tabletops Hall, which is right across the hall from the Board Room. Tabletops events are the ones you're seeing marked as None. The Board Room ribbon does not apply to them, and you'll just buy tickets for them like you would for any other event at Origins. You're welcome to buy tickets for events that are covered by a ribbon. If you've bought the ribbon, the system won't charge you for the ticket. If you buy the Ribbon and decide later it isn't worth it, you can get a refund for the ribbon, minus the cost of any tickets you bought that were covered by the ribbon. Hope that helps! -Trey Trey Reilly |

Yeah that helps a lot. Not going to Origins before I don't realise there was a seperate tabletop and boardgame room. And the to the badge just described the board game room, and didn't mention any other rooms.

That's a great description. I doubt I would have had any questions base on that.

Awesome. Thanks! (FYI, my Tabletops Director just sent me a whole roster of ribbon changes for the Board Room. I'll be updating the excel sheets in the next few hours to reflect those changes. All of the CABS events should be fine and stay as they are) -Trey Trey ReillyPrograms Director, GAMA programs@gama.org (614) 255-4500 x103 www.gama.org |

I want to do a couple of the slotted events in the Board Room (Hanging Gardens and Zooloretto). I bought the Board Room ribbon so I should not be chanrged for these two games, correct? However, when I go to check out it shows I owe $$ for them. How can I remedy this?
