There are 2 good sources that I've found for conventions.
The first is from Steve Jackson games (which events they'll be attending)
The second is a site decidated to game conventions...

There is a new convention MavenCon3 (first year open to the general public) In Indianapolis the first weekend in March (7/8/9). Admission ids free and they still taking submissions for games. The url is WWW.indymavens.com it is run by the group that puts on the forumite party (the Stink) at Gencon.

Perhaps you could attend Little Wars in Lincolnshire Illinois. The next one will be in February 2009. It's an HMGS-MW event held at the Marriot of Lincolnshire in the northern burbs of Chicago. John |

There is Rock-Con, which is usually the 1st weekend in November in Rockford, IL
