Why does registration close?

I'm curious to know why registration closes before the event at all. Why not let people continue to register up to the actual fact? Is it not an automated system? Doesn't it create a big crunch on Wednesday and Thursday?

Hiya - We close registration so that we can print badges and event tickets for all of the people who are pre-registered. It speeds up the lines on Wednesday and Thursday, as the people who've pre-registered then just pick up their packets and go, rather than waiting for things to be printed and collated. -Trey Trey Reilly |
