When does Hotel Registration begin?

I'm planning on coming to Origins in 2009 and I was wondering when you can book hotel rooms under the Origins blocks? As this will be my first Origins (after going to GenCon for 23 years) any help with this would be wonderful. -Troy

Looking for room to stay in

I'm planning things at the last minute, and am looking for a room to stay in for as many nights as possible (Tuesday to Saturday). I largely am just looking for a place to store my things, and a place to sleep. I don't require a bed, merely some place to sleep (Im fine with the cots most hotels have). If you have any space in your room, please email me at pepperbc@gmail.com Thanks, Ben Pepper

need to get rid of a room?

My family and I are looking for a room either attached to the center or across the street. If you have one you need to part with, we may be interested in taking it off your hands! Two beds would be great, but one would be ok too. (the kids can have a cot or the floor...)

Room to share, Hyatt on Capitol Square

I had friends cancel and so now I have some space in my room at the Hyatt on the Capitol Square if anyone is interested in sharing. It's a non-smoking room with 2 double beds at the conference rate of $100/night, so $50/night gets you one of the beds. I'm arriving on the 25th and leaving on the 29th. If interested please email a.miner at Yahoo. Thanks!

Hotel shuttles running this year?

Will Origins be sponsoring the hotel shuttle buses this year? Those buses were a huge help last year, both for convenience and for late-night safety. I haven't yet seen any schedules for the shuttles or even any reference to them in the Origins materials, so I'm worried. Do please let us know. The presence or absence of those buses will certainly affect my planning, and most likely the planning of others. Thanks. -kar8a

Worth it to stay in the burbs?

We're thinking about staying in Worthington. It looks like this would be about a 20 minute drive in and out, and would be somewhat cheaper than staying nearer the convention center, probably about $25-35 per day with parking, etc., figured in. If we were to stay "nearby" it would likely be at the Hyatt Cap Square. The website here lists it as 6 blocks, but yahoo maps says it's nearly a mile away and it looks more like 8-10 blocks by my count. That appears to be too far to walk comfortably, especially at 1 or 2 in the morning (after an exhausting day of rolling dice). Does anyone know if the drive time from Worthington is accurate? My husband is reluctant to stay far away, but I'm betting that waiting for shuttles is just as big a hassle as driving 20 minutes. Would we really be at an advantage staying at the Cap Sqaure? We're on a budget, but we want to relax a little, too, so I'm trying to pick something that won't be a huge hassle. Please help us make a decision--we are the agonizing type!

Room to share at Hyatt

My wife and I are looking to share a non-smoking room at the connected Hyatt. It'll be just her and me so we have a bed to share, preferably with another couple. The cost is $120 per night and we're there from Wednesday night till sign-out on Sunday morning, so we'd share at 60$ per night for 2 and $40 per night if it's just one person. If you won't be there the whole while and we don't get a better offer, then that would be fine. If interested, please contact me at ThomasHBlaine (at) peoplepc.com. Happy gaming!

Where to park?

Hey all, we are new to the Con, and trying to figure out how hotels and so forth work out. We are driving from a fair distance away, and we're wondering what people usually do for transportation. Most of the hotels seem to charge quite a lot extra for parking; rates seem similar to Chicago, in fact. And we certainly don't want to end up paying twice a day to park: at a hotel and at the convention center. So, how does the shuttle system work? How good is public transit? Should we park someplace far away and cheaper, and then take a bus to a hotel and just use shuttles the whole time we are there? How do other folk usually swing this? We would really love to know!

Looking to share a room

Hi, my name is Jim and I am looking for someone to share a room with this year at Origins. No one from my group can make it this year and if I don't find a way to cut down the expense neither will I. I have a room at the Knights Inn about 4miles away from the hall for $229 wed-sun. If interested I need a answer fairly quick or other wise I will have to cancel it. I also have a room at the Redroof Inn 1 block away but at twice the cost plus parking. I live in Trumbull county, Niles, oh if anyone wants to share a ride as well. If not just sharing the cost of the room would help greatly.

The hotel of choice

So what hotel is the best to stay in? The website here does a great job telling prices and how close to the convention center the hotels are, but I figured I'd ask here too.
