I have never been to an Origins before, but a friend of mine goes there every year and he loves it, I GM for some of my friends and felt like GM'ing at at a con, I actually planned on doing it this year for Origins but when I originally thought of it my friend told me it was too late to run games there so I waited for next year, just so I don't miss the cut-off point again I was wondering when registering to run games is open.

Normally Origins starts taking events in December IIRC with the cutoff for the pre-reg book being in January. You've got a window of a few months to submit your events.  Keep in mind that if you run over 16hrs of events, your GM badge is comped. If you run 32, the badge is covered and you can earn a voucher for a hotel room (shared with 3 other volunteers/GMs) or $60 worth of vouchers for food and the dealer room.

Look over some of the events from the 08 convention and think about the dates/times you're interested in running.

The GAMA staff can answer questions from there.

Hope this helped.

Well I already know what I am going to run, I am running a test version of it with some friends when I go back to college, as for when I really haven't thought about it, that 32 hour thing sounds good and lucky for me they officially added that extra day I am told.
