Suggestion on exhibitors websites...

I was trying to find websites for exhibitors in the program. One suggestion that I have is under the exhibitor list page can you list company websites under the booth location. It would be a great help in know what each exhibitor has to offer. It will allow me to get cards together if I know what a store is looking for. (If the company has a buy list up) Also I can know how to plan my time in the exhibitor hall because I am normally am tied up in events all day. Thanks..

How about a Carpool Forum?

It might be nice to have a sub-forum where people could arrange rides to and from the CON. Now that gas is what it is, it would be a nice service.

Weird Forum Behavior

I want to point out a few strange things about the forums... 1. Creating a new topic - Around Columbus, Volunteering, Web Site, Other Conventions, and Way Way Out There are the only forums with a "New Topic" button. (For example, I wanted to add a topic to "Pot Luck" but there's no way to do so.) 2. Time stamping - Events and Programs don't have time stamps on the threads. 3. New Post indicators - Around Columbus, Pot Luck, and Exhibition Hall show as having "new posts" yet there are no posts at all in the discussion area. 4. More New Post stuff - It's not really "new posts" but rather "unread posts." New post implies that something is new since the last time that I logged on. That's not how the forum is working.

Searching the Events list

I suggest some guidelines for searching the events. It looks like you allow searching by every single firld in your database, which is great, but without knowing what format the information is in, I'm not sure the search function will work as intended for most people. Example: you can search by "Event Start Date". Cool, but what should I type in? Will "Thursday 6:00 work"? "06/26/08 6:00pm"? "062620080800"??? Guidelines will help people use the search function more accurately. :)

Visibility of this forum

One thing you guys should consider is allowing non-logged in people to view the forum, and create a link on the main page to it. A buddy of mine went to your website and wasn't even aware of the existance of this forum until he logged in and navigated to it. I don't see any hurt in allowing those not logged in read access- would probably encourage them to find/create an account, then once they're signed in give them a link to register for the con. marketing marketing marketing....
