Kids Room

 
The Origins Kids Program is the place for children to hang out at Origins.  We offer numerous age-appropriate games for kids, mostly board games and card games, including tournaments.  There may also be arts & crafts, music, and other fun stuff.

 
All children are welcome.  Kids, 5 years old and older, can stay and play without their parents or guardians if they are ‘self-contained’, i.e. happy to be away from their parents, and able to interact with the group in the Kid’s Room.  If they need their parents to be with them, we have family games and activities, too!  There will also be toys and books available to children under age 5 to use in the room under the direction of their parents. Parents should check in with their children upon arrival. At check-in, we ask for the parents’ contact information, the parents’ intended location at the convention, if they are leaving the kids, and whether their children have roaming privileges.  Roaming privileges allow children ages 10 years old and up to leave and come in and out as they choose.  If the children do not have roaming privileges, they must stay at the Kids Program until their parents come for them, except for escorted trips to the restrooms.  For those parents who are mostly there for the kids or who are gaming widows (or widowers), we are happy to take on volunteers to help run the Kid’s Room, and offer Origins’ standard volunteer compensation - convention badges and Origins vouchers.

Kids Program Schedule

Open gaming with board games and card games, and some in-house tournaments.  There may be other activities including arts & crafts, exercise, etc .

Wednesday: 0900 to 1800. BREAK from 1300 to 1400; parents must pick up their child as the room will be closed          

Thursday:  0900 to 1800. BREAK from 1300 to 1400; parents must pick up their child as the room will be closed          

Friday:  0900 to 1800. BREAK from 1300 to 1400; parents must pick up their child as the room will be closed          

Saturday:  0900 to 1800. BREAK from 1300 to 1400; parents must pick up their child as the room will be closed          

Sunday:  0900 to 1600 BREAK from 1300 to 1400; parents must pick up their child as the room will be closed
