The 2008 StrategiCorps Theme: Heroes

 From the beginning of recorded history, heroes have played an important and highly visible part in the shaping and perception of our history – from the Greek legends of the Trojan War to those we hear of in news stories on modern conflicts.

Heroes can come in many forms: from the person who performs individual heroic feats on the battlefield, to the one who leads an army or a whole nation, to the one who works behind the scenes to solve a problem or collect information.

 

The Five “Divisions” of StrategiCorps

1. Historical Origins Team (“HOT”) 2008: When you are number two you try harder!  Second only to HMGS Historicontm in sheer numbers of Historical Miniatures events, HOT GM’s and gaming clubs from the world over produce a first class assembly historical minis events and great tournaments. Hosted by the Great Lakes Chapter of the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society (HMGS).

2. The Duke Seifried Experience:  70+ Years of Miniatures Gaming: “HE’S BAACK!” The one and only Duke, the man who achieved the incomparable with his Origins ’04 Lord of the Rings and recent Origins Retrospectives has returned for another performance with a selection of his best scenarios from his massive collection. Come play in some of the most spectacular miniature events you’ve ever seen. 

3. Origins War College (OWC): Scores of seminars by the foremost “unique-assembly” of Military History, Conflict Simulation, and International Affairs experts in the world.

4. Origins War Room: Play, scrutinize and find opponents for classic and new-release historical board wargames. You can also see demos by the designers and multi-player “monster” games.

5. National Strategic Decision Making (NSDM) Game: The “Model UN on Steroids”, NSDM is the ultimate International Role-Play of chilling real-world military and political strategy in an exciting and intense environment.
