Teachers Hall Pass

Teacher's hall Pass offers an edge for your classroom

When your lessons compete with video games, reality shows, and the never-ending “be-doop” of instant messaging, how do you breathe life into learning and capture your student’s attention? Add some games!

Games in the classroom bring studies -- and students -- to life! That’s why we created the FREE Teacher’s Hall Pass Program at the Origins Game Fair. The Teacher’s Hall Pass gives you a unique opportunity to find games that support your classroom needs.

The Teacher’s Hall Pass gives access to a series of special classes and events specially designed for teachers. Plus it gives you a free 5-day Origins badge, with hundreds of game companies on the exhibit hall floor and thousands of events where you can see and play games of all kinds.

Trade tips with teachers at all grade levels and get some time to learn, laugh, and play with the Teacher’s Hall Pass at the 2008 Origins Game Fair. Best of all, it’s FREE!

Eligibility

The Teacher’s Hall Pass program is open to teachers at all grade levels, resource center specialists, school librarians, principals, college professors, homeschoolers, and public librarians.

In 2006, the Teacher's Hall Pass program was expanded to include librarians and homeschoolers. The program has benefitted from the interesting and diverse perspectives these groups have brought to the program.

If you have a question as to whether or not you are eligible, please contact Program Coordinator Steven Verdoliva.

Registration

Sign up for the Teacher’s Hall Pass program today! It’s easy -- just fill out and return the registration form. Feel free to copy the form for your co-workers, too! You’ll receive a confirmation email after we process your form. Make sure you print the email for your records.

If you send in the flyer after May 25, 2008, your badge will NOT be processed, and you will have to register onsite. Your badge and program information will be waiting for you at the Special Services registration desk. You'll receive a FREE four-day general admission badge and a THP ribbon. The badge grants access to all non-ticketed events, while the ribbon lets our exhibitors know to give the possessor an educational discount.

Bring Your ID

To pick up your badge the show, you need both a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or similar document) and your school or library employee ID. We can also accept a letter from your supervisor (on your organization’s official stationery) that certifies your position.

For homeschoolers, examples we'll accept include: copy of your state or town registration letter, HSLDA receipt or membership card (Homeschool Legal Defense Association), or your local or state homeschool newsletter with an address label that shows your home address.

If you have any questions about what credentials to bring, please email events@gama.org.
