As we do each year, we took a hard look at the badges we offer following 2023, including the "Very Important Gamer" badges available for the last two years.
Included in that review was a survey we sent out to all attendees and asked them what they valued most when it came to a higher tier badge. We were overwhelmingly told that the following priorities would be of interest in any kind of advanced badge:
Early Access to Hotel Block
Early Access to the Vendor Hall
Exclusive Swag
We also received feedback that it would be nice if more people could take part in the program.
As part of the evaluation, we felt there were things that worked, and some that didn't work as well as we'd have liked, with the VIG program. As a result, the decision came to end the VIG program and deliver something that more people could take advantage of while still delivering the core value of what people sought in a premier badge.... and then we thought....what a great name!
So this year, instead of the VIG program, we are offering a premier badge. While still a price point higher than the generic 4-day badge ($175 vs. $95), the cost is lower than the VIG program, and offers all 3 of those critical benefits we were overwhelmingly told by you, our wonderful attendees, were the most important.

Additionally, if you're a premier badge owner located in the continental US, you'll have the option of having your badge mailed to you (if purchased by May 1, 2024), allowing you to skip the registration line!
While there will be more premier badges available than there were VIG badges, they will still be limited to ensure that availability for services like the hotel block remains an option for all attendees, and not just those who are able to spend a little bit extra. But for those looking for a bit more of a premier experience, we hope you'll find this badge delivers on your core interests.
