  • Yes. Approved media are welcome to take photos and video throughout public areas of the convention, including the Exhibit Hall.

Please be respectful of exhibitors, attendees, and active demonstrations. Some exhibitors may restrict photography or filming of unreleased products, prototypes, or private meetings. Always obtain permission before conducting interviews or filming in a way that may disrupt booth operations.

  • Media interested in interviewing exhibitors, guests, designers, publishers, or Origins staff should contact the Origins media team in advance whenever possible.

While some interviews can be arranged on-site, advance requests help ensure availability and allow our team to coordinate schedules and introductions.

  • Media credential applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Applicants will be notified by email once their application has been reviewed and a determination has been made. We encourage media members to apply as early as possible to allow sufficient time for planning coverage and scheduling interviews.

Media Demo Night is designed to provide a quieter, more relaxed environment than the busy Exhibit Hall, making it one of the best opportunities for meaningful conversations and coverage.

  • Media Preview Hour takes place Thursday, June 18, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and provides approved media with early access to the Exhibit Hall before it opens to attendees. This is an ideal time for photography, video capture, booth tours, and interviews.

Media Badge Application Process

Media Badge Application Process

  • Media badges are available to editorial staff writers employed by a trade publication, mainstream media outlet (newspaper, radio, TV, etc.), or online magazines. Freelance writers, podcasters, photographers, videographers, contributing editors, or bloggers may request media badges if covering for a specific publication or topic-related article.*

  • If you are a content creator and have a following of more than 10,000 accounts or subscribers on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, you may request one (1) free media badge to cover Origins Game Fair.*

  • During the convention, media must identify themselves at all times. Media attendees must visibly wear their Origins Game Fair media badge. During sessions, and when speaking with or recording or photographing Origins Game Fair attendees, media attendees must introduce themselves and their reporting publication or affiliation before asking questions or recording audio or video.

  • After the convention, electronic copies of published articles and links to content/streaming as outlined below must be submitted within 30 days to media@gama.org.

  • All people, including members of the press and those attending the convention with complimentary media badges, must at all times comply with all Origins Game Fair policies, including the Code of Conduct. Violation of the Code may result in expulsion from the event, a ban on attending future events, revocation of membership, and/or revocation of any or all privileges or offers associated with attending Origins Game Fair in any capacity. The Origins Game Fair Code of Conduct may be viewed here: https://www.originsgamefair.com/show-policies

* Meeting all the requirements for media registration does not guarantee you a media badge.

Requirements:

Content Creators/Streamers: You must film on the show floor and cite exhibitors’ products or services shown in your video(s). Vlogs outside the show, interviews with other content creators, or other content that is not specific to Origins Game Fair 2026 does not fulfill this requirement. You must use the #originsgamefair #origins2026 hashtags and tag @originsgamefair accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok or @originsgamefairconvention on YouTube.

Streaming Channels Only: You must stream from the show and provide a link to the video. Locations around the convention center will be provided to accommodate this requirement. You must use the #originsgamefair #origins2026 hashtags and tag @originsgamefairconvention on YouTube.

If you or someone you assign to cover Origins Game Fair does not produce content in a timely manner, it will impact your ability to receive media badges to future instances of Origins Game Fair.

If you’re not approved for the Media Badge:

  • GAMA Member Badges - Join GAMA (Game Manufacturers Association) and receive two (2) free full show badges to attend Origins Game Fair (including Origins Trade Day). If you are a Media & Event voting member you are automatically eligible to request your two (2) free badges. To claim your member badges, click here.

  • General Media - If you are not a GAMA Voting Media & Events member, and you do not meet the media badge requirements listed above, show badges are available for a discounted rate of $50 for a full show badge. Limited to two (2) per general media company. We do not offer single day media badges. To apply for a General Media badge, please email media@gama.org.

Approval for a General Media badge still comes with the expectations outlined above for Content Creators and Streaming Channels. Failure to do so will impact your future media applications with Origins Game Fair.

What was Included with Media Badge for Origins GAME FAIR 2026:

  • Expanded Media First Look - Based on the success of this program last year, we are expanding this area where tabletop game press and media will have the chance to see the latest new releases and hottest games. Media will be able to create content focused on the games, but some restrictions may apply based on publisher rules.

  • Media Lounge & Streaming Studio - We will have space on the convention floor that registered media can reserve to conduct interviews, broadcast from the show, or film content. You must have a media badge to enter this area and schedule the studio to record content. Additional details will be sent closer to the convention.

  • Early Media Access to the Exhibit Hall - Media badge holders will be permitted early access to the exhibit hall one hour early on Thursday, starting at 9 a.m.
