AUTHORs ALCOVE

If you have a talent for crafting beautiful prose or elegant poetry with nerdy themes, we’d love to feature you at the show! There are a few different ways to be involved with the show. Explore the options below and find out how to share your passion with Origins Game Fair attendees!

If you are a published author and interested in the Authors Alcove, please fill out this form, and our staff will reach out to you.

Please note that, in order to be considered, authors must have at least one of the following:

  • Three or more publications of different works of fiction or nonfiction totaling a minimum of 10,000 words and earning at least 6c/word

  • One published novel-length (minimum 40,000 words) work of fiction or nonfiction earning advances, royalties, and/or net profit of at least $3,000 within two years of publication

  • One published children's book of at least 32 pages earning advances, royalties, and/or net profit of at least $3,000 within two years of publication

Preference is toward areas of relevant interest to gamers, such as genres like fantasy, science fiction, and horror in fiction and, in nonfiction, subjects such as history, forensics, and strategy. All audience age ranges are acceptable, from picture books to general novels.

DEADLINE

The deadline to participate in Origins Game Fair 2024 has unfortunately passed. Any submissions will be considered for Origins Game Fair 2025

Anthology

Each year, Origins Game Fair offers a limited-edition anthology featuring stories from authors exhibiting at the show. This gives authors an opportunity to showcase their skill and imagination and inspire conversations with attendees looking for signatures and souvenirs. These anthologies are sold at the Origins Game Fair Merch booth and at participating authors’ booths.

Seminars & Workshops

We are always looking for passionate presenters to hold seminars and workshops for our attendees. If you have questions about seminars and workshops, please email events@gama.org.

Exhibit

The Exhibit Hall is a mix of games, art and all things gaming and related to the culture surrounding gaming. If you would prefer a booth in the exhibit hall, instead of authors alcove, please fill out the application on the exhibitors page.
