32nd Annual Origins Award Winners Announced
The Academy of Adventure Game Arts and Design announced the winners of the 32nd annual Origins Awards on Friday, June 30, during a gala ceremony at the Origins International Game Expo.

It's showtime! Here's your official administrivia about covering Origins 2006:
- Picking up your badge: On Thursday through Sunday, get your badge at the Origins Press Room, B201 (at the top of the main stairs and escalators, through the double glass doors). If the Press Room is closed, get your badge at the Special Services desk at Registration.
- Press preview days: Members of the press can get into the Expo Hall from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on both Thursday and Friday. Exhibitors wanting to talk to the press will be in their booths early those days to demonstrate games and answer questions.
- Expo Hall Press Center: This year, we added a curtained interview space on the Expo Hall floor. It's in the the right rear side of the hall (look for the signs). The are contains a couple of tables and chairs, plus Internet connections.
- Press Room hours: The Press Room will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Expo Hall press area is open during regular Expo Hall hours.
- Lunch Thursday through Sunday: A deli sandwich lunch is available for free from 11:45 a.m. through 2 p.m. in the press room from Thursday through Saturday. Press badges are required for the meal.

Covering Origins? You have a seat at our table!
If you plan to cover the Origins International Game Expo in TV,
radio, newspaper, magazine, or online, then we'll gladly supply you
with a complimentary press badge for the convention. Your press badge
lets you explore the expo show floor, participate in games, and
attend seminars. It also gives you access to our special Press Room,
with all the amenities you need to make covering Origins easy.
To qualify for an Origins press badge, please send in the
following information:
- Your name and contact information
(postal address, email address, phone number, and fax
number)
- Name and contact information for your
publication
- For freelancers, please include a list of recent
published articles
- Origins coverage plans
You
can either fax the information to the GAMA offices at 614-255-4499 or
email it to
press@gama.org. We'll
notify you when we receive everything, and will follow-up with
further details.
The Origins International Game Expo
reserves the right to limit the number of badges provided to each
publication, but we always try to accomodate the needs of the working
press.
On-site Press Center
Origins 2005 features a full-featured Press
Center in the Convention Center. The Press Center keeps you very
close to the action without being awash in it.
The
Press Center provides a comfortable interview area, plus working
space with phones, high-speed Internet connections (both wired and
wireless), and a message center. As a new feature this year, the
press room will include manufacturer contact information and press
releases, as well as a full list of press events.
