Getting Your Booth to Origins

To ensure a smooth and efficient move-in process, all vehicles arriving to unload at Origins Game Fair must first check in at the Marshaling Yard before proceeding to the Greater Columbus Convention Center loading docks.

The marshaling process helps reduce congestion, keeps traffic moving, and allows our operations team to direct exhibitors to available unloading locations as efficiently as possible.

Arrival Process

Step 1: Arrive at the Marshaling Yard

All vehicles unloading exhibit materials, booth displays, inventory, or equipment must report to the Marshaling Yard upon arrival.

Step 2: Check In

Provide your company name and booth number to event staff.

Staff will verify your load-in assignment and place you in the queue for dock access.

Step 3: Receive Dock Assignment

When space becomes available, you will be directed to a designated loading dock or unloading area at the convention center. This applies for non dock height personal vehicles, not just dock sized trucks.

Please do not proceed directly to the loading docks without authorization.

Step 4: Proceed to the Convention Center

Follow the route and instructions provided by marshaling staff.

Step 5: Unload Your Vehicle

Unload your materials as quickly and safely as possible. Each vehicle is allotted 1 hour to unload unless previously scheduled for a longer time period.

Please have sufficient personnel available to unload your vehicle within your assigned unloading window.

Step 6: Move Your Vehicle

Once unloading is complete, all vehicles must immediately move to exhibitor parking or an approved off-site location.

Vehicles may not remain in loading areas after unloading is complete.

Important Reminders

Every vehicle must check in through the Marshaling Yard.
Have your booth number readily available.
Bring a copy of your load-in assignment if applicable.
Arrive only during your scheduled load-in period.
Follow all directions provided by event staff, security personnel, and dock managers.
Loading docks are active work zones. Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I go directly to the loading dock?

No. All vehicles must first check in at the Marshaling Yard before proceeding to the convention center.

What if I arrive early?

Vehicles arriving before their assigned load-in period may be required to wait until space becomes available.

What if I miss my assigned load-in time?

Staff will work to accommodate late arrivals as space permits. However, missing your assigned window may result in additional wait time.

What if I need more unloading time?

If you require additional unloading time due to booth size, equipment, inventory volume, or special circumstances, please contact the Exhibitor Team before arriving on-site.

What if I need multiple dock spaces?

Requests for multiple dock spaces should be submitted in advance. Availability may be limited based on operational requirements.

Can I use a personal vehicle?

Yes. Personal vehicles, vans, trailers, rental trucks, and commercial vehicles must all check in through the Marshaling Yard before unloading.
